The Office of Minority Health (OMH) at the U.S Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has launched Men's Health Listening Sessions across the country. The purpose of these discussions is to learn thoughts and perceptions around factors that impact your overall health. These events allow men an opportunity to provide feedback on key areas including: Health & Prevention, Substance Abuse/Mental Health, and Fitness & Nutrition.
This initiative advances the HHS OMH mission and its National Partnership for Action to End Health Disparities (NPA) key priority by:
1. Understanding the story behind the data
2. Learning about community thoughts/perceptions, resources, and desires
3. Building public trust
4. Identifying specific goals and actions for future policy and program development
